Alcohol Responsible For 3 Million Deaths Worldwide: WHO

Alcohol killed three million people in 2016 – more than infectious diseases, cancers combined, the World Health organisation said on Friday. More than 75 per cent of the alcohol related deaths were among men, it said.

Pollution behind more ailments than smoking: Research

Smoking causes more than 80% of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) cases in the developed world. But over half (54%) of them in India are attributable to indoor and outdoor air pollution, according to a Lancet Global Health research paper.
